Do you feel at home in your body?

Imagine being witnessed in your beautiful vulnerable intricate naked form by a room of artistic sisters,

becoming ART and healing in loving connection with your female body.

Have you ever been to a figure drawing class, or heard about one? And wondered HOW the model could get up there, strip naked in front of a room of strangers, and then sit still for hours being watched in detail?

Maybe you’ve been curious to try for yourself, but feel it would be too scary, or too uncomfortable to undress and be stared at totally nude!

If it’s anything like my experience, these thoughts may stem from an insecurity about our bodies.

I understand this all too well, and continue to walk the path back to body love and wholeness myself.

is a women’s figure drawing class where we each get a chance to model (be witnessed) and we each get a chance to draw (be the witness.)

This invaluable experience helps us fall back in love with our bodies as we learn the power and beauty that is the female form.

In this session you see your body as art, literally!

You take your turn modeling, while the rest of us draw the masterpiece that is you, all your edges and curves, and the pure womaness that you are.

After the drawing portion, all who want to share their work, show the drawings they channeled, some will be of you!

In the session we learn how to overcome the initial fear of our naked vulnerability, by being held in a safe container of supportive sisters.

This is more than just a figure drawing class…

it is a chance to embrace ALL of who you are, to let go of limiting beliefs, and find joy in the gift of being a woman.

Like most women, I developed a deep dislike towards my body at a young age, that took many years to realize was there, and then many more to untangle.

One tool that helped me get to that point of understanding, and to move forward, was modeling for figure drawing artists as well as drawing MANY other women with a variety of bodies.

In this deeply vulnerable and artistic practice, I learned to love my curves and lines that had haunted me for much of my early years, as well as appreciate a vast array of bodies and their unique beauty.

Becoming art, and creating art, helped me heal and reveal to me my body as artistic beauty.

I’m willing to bet that you and I have had a similar experience of what it’s like to be a woman in this culture.

That we have questioned our female bodies, their worthiness, perfection, if they are too much in places, and not enough in others.

You’ll get the opportunity to see your body as a form of art, through modeling in front of other artists that are there for the sole purpose of learning about themselves and creating art

WHAT YOU WILL GET:

You will learn how to model for a figure drawing class! If you are one of the many women who find out they love to model, you can even take the tips and tricks from this workshop and find modeling gigs!

You’ll leave with basic figure drawing techniques for the class and to further your drawing practice. If you are a new to figure drawing don’t worry! In this workshop I go over the fundamentals so you can have a handful of tangible practices and tips.
It often take time to learn to figure draw but with patience and practice anyone can do it!
You’ll get to spend three wonderful hours with just women.
This is a women’s only space and safe container for women to be fully who they are.
You get the chance to BE A BEGINNER.
Whether that’s a beginner artist, or beginner model, or both! Whenever we can let go of expectations and embrace being a beginner, then we can make “mistakes” and not take it all so seriously.
You’ll leave with sisterhood connections, and an opportunity to build relationships with women in your area through a shared experience of vulnerability.
Lastly, you’ll leave with art! Wether it will be art you made, or art you traded for art of YOU. I can promise that you’ll take home some art to remind you of this amazing experience you had and the treasure of your body.

This is a 3 hour workshop with a break in the middle for tea and treats

All supplies are provided, however you are welcome to bring anything you are inspired to create with as well!
Everyone has an opportunity to model, timing for each woman depends on the amount of participants. If many women would like to model, then multiple women can go at once.
We start with shorter poses of 30 seconds and build to 20 minutes poses. You can choose to do shorter, longer, or both.
You do not have to model if you do not want to. I of course encourage everyone to give it a try, but you are also totally welcome to join and choose not to model.
In the first portion of the workshop I give a short instruction on figure drawing, as well as my top tips on figure modeling.
ALL levels of experience are welcome. The figure drawing teaching portion of this class is minimal, however I am happy to answer any questions or give tips throughout.
No photography or video is allowed for the sake of privacy of the models
All ages are welcome. Participants that would like to model must be at least 18 years of age.
Upon registration you will receive an email with further details of what to bring and any other important information.

No! You can totally draw the entire time. However, I encourage everyone to give it a go!
Absolutely! I do encourage to give nude modeling a try, as it can be very fun and push us to or past the edge of our comfort zone, but it is always best to honor and respect where you are at in the present moment. Some amazing healing, and art can come from that!
You can totally still model if you would like! Women model all the time when they are on their period. You can optionally wear clothes, underwear, any sort of menstrual care, or if you want to model free bleeding please bring a towel.
Bleeding is a natural part of being a woman and there is no need to hide or feel shame around showing this. Whatever you are most comfortable with is welcome.
Lastly, modeling for an entire figure drawing session is a lot on the body, however the amount of modeling done in this class is much less. You can try modeling for 5 minutes and see how your body does.
I encourage every woman to feel into what her body needs in that moment. Poses of laying down and embodying rest can be centered for your turn modeling.
Thats totally okay. Figure drawing is a learned skill and comes quite naturally to some. In the start of this session I will give a short figure drawing lesson that will give you some tangible tips to follow throughout the workshop.
Truly though, I’m sure you know more than you think! Being a human and staring at human bodies all the time, gives us a great start for being able to draw them.
All basic art materials are provided. However if you want to bring your own special materials you are welcome to.
